Support Systems for Children
together, we strive. together, we rise.
At Ohana Mua, we believe that when families are supported, children thrive. Our Support Systems for Children focus on creating safe, nurturing environments that strengthen resilience, identity, and well-being.
Hoʻomālama ʻOhana is dedicated to breaking cycles of generational trauma by supporting the children of incarcerated parents across Hawaiʻi. Rooted in the Native Hawaiian values of aloha, kuleana, and ʻohana, the program nurtures resilience, identity, and well-being through culturally responsive mentorship and safe spaces for growth.
To reduce financial barriers, Hoʻomālama ʻOhana helps families access sports, arts, and music by covering costs such as equipment, registration fees, uniforms, and supplies. By ensuring equitable opportunities, we empower keiki with life skills like discipline, commitment, and teamwork—while fostering positive connections that strengthen families and communities.
